Dalai lama visits the Netherlands - 2009

His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited the Netherlands on 4 and 5 June, 2009. He gave Buddhist teachings and a public reading on 4 June in the RAI in Amsterdam.

NOVA College Tour

Prime Minister Balkenende refused to receive him, but at NOVA College Tour the Dalai Lama welcome. Students from across the country came to interview the spiritual leader of Tibet. On special request of the Dalai Lama the capacity of the room was increased. More than 300 students came to ask him their questions. Topics covered: the relationship between China and Tibet, criticism of young people from Tibet to His Holiness' peaceful struggle, and the special relationship of the Dalai Lama with the Royal family in the Netherlands.











Tibetans are eager to meet HH Dalai lama in a private talk for Tibetans only.















Rick Nieman interviews the Dalai Lama

In the interview, Rick Niaman and the Dalai lama discuss the struggle for an autonomous Tibet, the fierce resistance of the Chinese regime and the refusal of Dutch Prime Minister Balkenende to receive him.
